Neighborhood research
Prompts for understanding what day-to-day life may feel like in a place.
- Check access to everyday needs: groceries, pharmacies, public transit, schools, parks, clinics, and basic services.
- Compare travel times for normal routines, not only the best-case route shown on a map.
- Look for noise sources such as major roads, rail lines, nightlife, construction zones, airports, or busy commercial areas.
- Review public local information where available, including city services, planned projects, flood zones, and safety resources.
- Visit at different times if possible: weekday morning, evening, weekend, and after dark can show different patterns.
- Write down tradeoffs clearly, because every neighborhood has some mix of convenience, cost, quiet, access, and distance.
